Review protection

One bad review can erase a year of great work.

SignalRoute is the early-warning system for small businesses. Thrilled customers post publicly in a tap. Frustrated ones get a private channel to you — so you can fix what went wrong before it lands on Google.

The math

Why one bad review hits so hard.

The published research on review impact. Not industry-specific — behavioral economics, applied to small business.

94%

of consumers say a negative review has convinced them to avoid a business.

ReviewTrackers, Online Reviews Survey

5–9%

revenue change per Yelp star, in either direction — the documented effect of a single rating shift.

Harvard Business School (Luca, 2016)

86%

of buyers won't trust a business under 4 stars on Google.

BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey

40×

more weight buyers put on negative reviews vs positive ones, per behavioral research.

Negativity bias — Rozin & Royzman, 2001

Most of the bad reviews you'll ever get come from problems you would have happily fixed — if you'd known about them in time.

How it works

Same link. Same five-star moments. Different path for the unhappy ones.

Tap a star to see what each customer sees. Public platforms are always available — the private feedback option appears alongside, never instead of.

now

Service was slower than I expected and the part I needed wasn't in stock — wanted to give a heads-up before leaving a public review.

You see it before Google does — call back, refund, fix it.

Public review

Customer picks the platform

One tap → live on Google in seconds.

Setup

Three things, then you're live.

01

Paste your Google review link

We'll handle the routing logic. If you have Yelp, Facebook, BBB, or anywhere else worth a public review, add those too.

02

Add your logo and brand color

The customer sees your business — never SignalRoute. Print the QR for receipts, signage, table tents, or send the link by SMS.

03

Watch the inbox for issues, the public for stars

Five-star moments fly to Google in one tap. Frustrated customers route to your inbox first — so you can call back, refund, or follow up before it goes public.

The honest version

“Wait — isn't routing the same as gating?”

Review gating means selectively soliciting positive reviews and burying the negative ones. That's banned by the FTC and against Google's policy.

SignalRoute does not do that. Every customer — one star or five — sees the same public review platforms you've set up. The only thing that changes for a low-rated customer is they also get a private way to reach you, shown alongside the public options. We never hide a review, never filter, never delay.

We built the whole product against 16 CFR § 465 and Google's review policy point by point. Read the full compliance breakdown →

The psychology

Why hearing them first works.

The behavioral research on what frustrated customers actually want — and what happens when you give it to them.

Negativity bias

Frustrated customers are dramatically more motivated to post than thrilled ones — and a single 1-star can outweigh many 5-stars in a buyer's mind.

Give frustrated customers a private outlet — alongside the public one, not instead of it.
Need to be heard

What an unhappy customer actually wants, in the moment, is acknowledgment. If you don't provide a channel, the public review is where they get it.

Be the first place they can vent. The public option is still right there.
Service-recovery paradox

Customers whose problems are resolved often become more loyal than customers who never had an issue at all.

A bad day, recovered well, is your most loyal repeat customer.
Built by an owner

I built this because I needed it.

I ran a service business for years before I built this. Two things became obvious fast:

First — the customers who had a great visit don't think to leave a review. The ones who left frustrated absolutely do.

Second — and this is the bigger one — one bad day can cost more than the job itself. Most of the negative reviews I ever got were from problems I would have fixed if someone had told me.

SignalRoute is the tool I wish I'd had: every customer reaches every platform you care about, but the frustrated ones can also reach you — privately, in time to fix it.

FAQ

Questions owners actually ask.

Is this review gating? Won't Google ban me?

No. Every customer using your SignalRoute link sees the same public review platforms — Google, Yelp, Facebook — regardless of how they rated. Low-rated customers also see a private feedback option, but it's offered alongside the public platforms, never as a substitute. We built the entire flow against 16 CFR § 465 (the FTC Consumer Reviews Rule) and Google's review policy. See our full compliance breakdown at /no-review-gating.

How is this different from just posting my Google review link?

A plain Google link gives every customer — frustrated or thrilled — exactly one place to vent. SignalRoute first asks how the visit went, then routes thrilled customers to whichever public platform you care about (Google, Yelp, Facebook, Trustpilot, BBB) and gives frustrated ones a private channel to you alongside those public options. Same set of public platforms either way; the only thing that changes is whether the owner gets a heads-up first.

How long does setup take?

Under 5 minutes. Sign up, paste your Google review link, upload your logo and pick a brand color, and you have a live page and a QR code. No technical skills, no developer, no Zapier middleware.

What does it cost?

$30/month per location, billed monthly. 7-day free trial. No credit card required to start. No contract, cancel any time from the dashboard.

Will my customers see SignalRoute branding?

No. The page they tap into uses your business name, your logo, and your colors. The customer never sees the SignalRoute name — it's your review page, not ours.

Does this work for any kind of business?

Any business that asks customers for reviews — restaurants, dentists, contractors, salons, real-estate agents, dental practices, fitness studios, e-commerce, B2B SaaS, agencies, professional services. The mechanic is the same regardless of vertical.
